Scottie Scheffler won the 2026 TOUR Championship after shooting -4 on Sunday and carded a 66 on the day and -16 overall. Scottie entered Sunday 3 shots behind Viktor Hovland. Hovland finished in second place at -13 overall. Scottie became the 3rd player in PGA Tour History to win multiple FedEx Cup Titles joining Tiger Woods (2007,2009) and Rory McIlroy (2016,2019,2022). Scottie also won the TOUR Championship in 2024. Scottie entered the postseason with one win and he went on to win the FedEx St.Jude Championship and the TOUR Championship. Talk about showing up when it matters most in the playoffs. Scottie won his 1st start of the season at the American Express and won his last start of the season at the TOUR Championship. Scheffler also joined a tie in wins on the season. He is included in a 4 way tie for most wins this season on TOUR joining Matt Fitzpatrick, Chris Gotterup, and Wyndham Clark. It was Scottie’s 22nd win of his career.

Scottie’s win today payed out $10 million dollars. With that win, he now passed Tiger Woods in the career earnings. Scottie now has made $130,390,661 in his career and Tiger made 120,999,166 million in his career. 

Notable Standout Performances

Notable good scores in this tournament included Viktor Hovland (-13), Ryan Gerard (-12), and Alex Fitzpatrick (-11).

Hovland had a great tournament all weekend until today. He shot 66 or better his first three days but he shot a 72 today. Hovland was hitting good shots today but could never get some birdie putts to fall in on the back 9. He had 2-3 putts that hit the cup but rolled right back out. Hovland finished solo 2nd for the tournament. 

Gerard had another great tournament as well until today. He shot 66 or better his first three days until a 72 today. Gerard opened up with a double bogey on the tricky hole 1 at East Lake. He fought all day after that with hitting some tough shots. He just could not get any birdies until hole 15 before a bogey on 16. He finished solo 3rd for the tournament.

Alex Fitzpatrick was consistent all tournament long. He had a 68 on Thursday and Friday and a 67 Saturday before a 66 today. Fitzpatrick has played really well since he and brother Matt won the Zurich in April. With that win, Matt secured his brother a Tour card. Alex has made every cut besides one. He had 3 Top 5’s and 6 Top 10’s on Tour. Alex will be exempt from every signature event and every major as well. 

Notable Poor Performances

Notable poor scores in this tournament included Patrick Cantlay (-5), Wyndham Clark (-5), and Gary Woodland (+2).

Cantlay just could not really get going at all. He had a 68,70, 68, and 69 over the course of the tournament. Disappointing tournament for a guy who is usually strong at East Lake.

Clark was another guy who could not get going this week either after winning the BMW Championship last week. Clark shot 67,69, 67, and a 72. 

Woodland had a okay start to the tournament after shooting a 66 and 68 on Thursday and Friday. But he shot a 71 on Saturday, and today his game completely off the tracks, shooting a 77(+7 to par). 

Expert Picks

Here, we rank our experts from most to least trustworthy. 

Adrian Rosati 14 points (2-0-2)

Hats off to Adrian for the safe pick but smart pick. Adrian will finish 2nd in our expert standings because of his Scottie win. Scottie was just remarkably consistent all tournament long and today he showed why he was the worlds number 1 player overcoming a 3 shot deficit and winning the tournament by 3 shots.

Jonathan Hutson 11 points (0-4-0)

Burns finished T18 this week. He stayed about middle of the pack all tournament long. Burns shot a 68 or better the first three days before shooting a 72 today. Jonathan will finish in last place in our expert standings. 

Ryan Smith 16 points (1-2-1)

Cantlay finished T21 this week. He just could not get anything going at all.

I officially won the expert standings finishing two points above Adrian! Although it was short, I was the most trustworthy expert.
